Our study programmes

At Mediahuis Aachen we offer two study programmes with a degree in Bachelor of Arts in cooperation with the university DHBW in Baden-Württemberg. The dual study programme allows you to directly combine theory and practice. You will be part of the team from day one and will be able to take on independent tasks and projects.

Dual study programme: Digital Media - Media Management and Communication

What you can expect

Together with the DHBW in Mannheim, we will train you to become a digital professional in our three-year dual study programme. You will alternate between three months of study at the DHBW in Mannheim and three months of in-house training. During your in-company training with us, you will work in all areas and gain a comprehensive insight into the workings of a modern media company. You will learn the theoretical tools for your career in the theory phase at the DHBW in Mannheim. In addition to the classic business administration basics, the curriculum focuses on knowledge in the management of digital marketing and media projects. After three years, you will graduate with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) and be ideally prepared for exciting jobs in the media industry. You can find more information about the degree programme here.

Your profile

Digital affinity and strong communication skills: The most important thing is that you enjoy analysing, developing and using digital media, enjoy working with people and have strong communication skills and a willingness to communicate.
Flexibility and independence: You enjoy getting involved in new situations and tasks and solving them independently. You are persistent and ambitious in pursuing your goals and are not discouraged by setbacks.
School and experience: You have completed your A-levels and have good to very good grades, especially in German, maths and English. You may also have already completed an internship or two, been involved in voluntary work or gained experience in a part-time job.

Personal support: At the start of your dual study programme, a study buddy will help you find your way around. There is a contact person in each department who will support you during your placement and your trainer from the HR department will always have an open ear for you – even when you are at the university, of course.
Modern working conditions: We provide you with everything you need to work in our state-of-the-art open office on the Medienhaus campus. You can reach us thanks to good public transport connections. If you come by car, there is also free parking available.

Dual study programme: Business Administration Media and Communication Management Digital and Print (m/f/d)

What you can expect

Together with the DHBW in Ravensburg, we will train you as a commercial media specialist in our three-year dual study programme. You will alternate between three months of study at the DHBW in Ravensburg and three months of in-house training. During your in-company training with us, you will work in all commercial departments and gain a comprehensive insight into the marketing and sales of our daily newspaper. You will also have the opportunity to deepen your own career-related interests and get a taste of other areas such as HR, finance or our newsroom management.
You will learn the theoretical tools for your career in the theory phase at the DHBW in Ravensburg on beautiful Lake Constance. The curriculum includes business administration, economics, law and media and communication management.
After three years, you will graduate with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) and be ideally prepared for exciting jobs in the media industry. You can find more information about the degree programme here.
