As publisher of the two regional daily newspapers, Medienhaus Aachen GmbH will merge the “Aachener Zeitung” and the “Aachener Nachrichten” as well as the associated district editions in the Aachen-Düren-Heinsberg region from the turn of the year. For subscribers to the “Aachener Nachrichten”, this means that in future they will find their familiar local newspaper in their letterbox under a new name: “Aachener Zeitung”. Nothing will change for readers of the “Aachener Zeitung”.
The two newspapers already differ essentially only in the newspaper names and the brand colours blue and yellow. Parallel to the print editions, the two news portals aachener-zeitung.de and aachener-nachrichten.de will also be merged into one portal.
